About the event

Education is something we all deserve access to. Clean and up to code school buildings, current books, and a full staff of teachers shouldn’t be a huge ask. But who gets to decide who’s worthy of that access and who isn’t? And what happens when the young people who are intentionally excluded reach their limits? Join us for a very special edition of History Bites as we honor and reflect on the 60th anniversary of Brown v. Board, one of many Supreme Court decisions that had white folks in a tizzy. From the formation of the White Citizens Council and their Southern Manifesto on Integration, to the present day acts of Moms for Liberty, access to education has and will continue to be used as a weapon. This we know, but what are the consequences?
