Radically Nonviolent: Getting into Good Trouble with Your Friends
Sat, Aug 31
|Virtual Event
The idea of violence is boxed in a rigid definition that narrows our perception of what all it could be. Bob Zellner has witnessed violence in many forms—physical, emotional, and psychological—while part of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).

About the event
For this session of Conversation With, we hear from Bob about his time in SNCC and how the youth movements like Freedom Summer played a vital role in the progress of the Civil Rights Movement. We’ll also learn what went on behind the scenes from planning to execution of powerful demonstrations of collective youth unity such as the March on Washington.
Bob will share his observations on the importance of listening to and supporting youth movements and how adults can better work with the energy young people bring to discussions on progress. Join Bob and AJ as they navigate the lessons we rely on to fortify ourselves when our turn to show up for the collective comes. Heads up, that time is now.
